China Tourist Park Builds Special Traffic Lights for Camels

China Tourist Park Builds Special Traffic Lights for Camels, City government officials of Dunhuang, northwest China, have inaugurated the world’s first camel traffic light . This was done to anticipate camel congestion in the desert of the Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Lake Nature Park, China.

Reporting from ECNS, Wednesday, April 14, 2021, the traffic light was inaugurated and has started operating since Sunday, April 11, 2021. The location is in a popular tourist area, close to Dunhuang City, Gansu Province, China. Camel riding is one of the big draws for visitors to the area.

Dunhang City is located in an oasis of the Gansu-Xinjiang desert region. The area would be the first settlement run by the Chinese that tourists heading to the eastern part of the ancient Silk Route could reach.

Quoting CNN, Wednesday, April 14, 2021, in recent years, tourism in the area has grown thanks to Mount Mingsha, the Mogao Cave temple complex, and passing through Yumen and Yangguan. The location is the westernmost gate of the Great Wall.

Now, visitors who come to the Mount Nature Park and Lake Bulau Sabit Mingsha don’t have to worry about colliding with other camels on their way. The presence of traffic lights can provide a signal when the camel should pass and stop.

Principle of Traffic Lights

Traffic lights for camels are like traffic lights on a highway. When the traffic signal is green, camels can cross the road.

Conversely, when the light turns red, the camel must stop and allow other visitors to cross. With this arrangement, travel security will be more guaranteed.

Many visitors often ride camels to enjoy the atmosphere on Mount Mingsha. Mount Mingsha is known as Mount Pasir Sing because of the noise of the sand when it is walking. This area is close to downtown Dunhuang with temperatures that are not extreme.
